International jazz saxophonist and jazz educator Serge Le Goueff invites you to join him on his presentation “What is Jazz?” He brings to light the myths as well as the many truths that have contributed to shaping Jazz music over the past century. Through a historical and musical exploration of this genre, Serge brings you this Jazz Appreciation address. This lecture aims to bring clarity to how Jazz came to be. Through time, starting from the late 16th century all the way to today. It is an exploration of how different cultures (musically and geographically) have contributed to the making of the art form we know as Jazz today.
