Alec O’Halloran is the author of ‘The master from Marnpi’, the authorised biography of Mick Namarari Tjapaltjarri, a Pintupi man who became an award-winning Papunya Tula artist. Last year marked  the 50th anniversary of the beginning of his exemplary art career at Papunya (NT) in 1971 and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Western Desert art movement, of which Namarari was a founding member and leading exponent. Join us in hearing about Alec’s journey in writing this biography and experiencing his knowledge of this art movement in Australia.
