For many years, Ros wrote a weekly column for The West Australian which garnered her a wide, devoted readership. A collection of her columns ‘Was it Something I Said?’ was a best seller by UWA Publishing in 2014. In 2021, Ros’s 300-word flash fiction piece How To Leave Your Childhood Behind was awarded winner of Britain’s annual STAUNCH prize against a prominent UK and US shortlist.

Since 2017 Ros has been heavily involved in Aged Care Advocacy and has been an ambassador for Alzheimer’s WA. She has been the sole carer for her mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and has written this fiction novel ‘How to shame the devil’, while spending time in and around nursing homes.

‘Clever, entertaining, beautifully crafted, disturbing and full of humanity. An original take on the #MeToo phenomenon, with the wonderful Ros Thomas at her most witty and compelling.’ – Will Yeoman, The West Australian

All welcome to this free event.

The Margaret River Bookshop will be on hand with copies of ‘How to shame the Devil’ and light refreshments will be provided after the talk.
