Save The Date For Poetry Events In January 2024

Poetry Performance By Miriam Wei Wei Lo

Thursday 18th January, 6 – 7pm

Miriam will share poetry from her new book ‘Who Comes Calling?’, followed by a conversation style interview with Ana Brawls. Light refreshments will be provided after the talk.

Miriam lived in Margaret River for 11 years (some of you might remember her as Miriam Lochore), and many of the poems in this collection are set in Margaret River.  Her poems are accessible and engaging and should appeal, not only to those who identify with her faith perspective, but also to those who are interested in embodied female experience, to lovers of poetry, and to anyone who likes to ask big questions.

Poetry Workshop, Friday 19th January, 10.30am – 12.30pm

Miriam will facilitate a workshop on the theme of ‘Writing about home: the poetry of complicated journeys’. This workshop will guide participants in finding their own voice and stories on this theme, with a focus on metaphor as a poetic device.  This 2 hour event is FREE and easily accessible, with light refreshments included.

Who Comes Calling? is Miriam’s latest poetry collection, recently published by Western Australian Poets Press.
