Friday 19th January, 10.30am – 12.30pm
We are thrilled to have Miriam Wei Wei Lo with us to facilitate a poetry workshop on the theme of ‘Writing about home: the poetry of complicated journeys’. This workshop will guide participants in finding their own voice and stories on this theme, with a focus on metaphor as a poetic device.
In early 2023 Miriam was awarded a Westerly Mid-Career Fellowship. While teaching creative writing at Sheridan Institute of Higher Education, she has also just published a new collection of works titled ‘Who Comes Calling’. Attending poetry workshops can help participants learn a new skill, find self-expression and there is no pressure or judgement, just the opportunity to learn and grow.
This 2 hour event is FREE, welcoming and easily accessible with light refreshments included. Spaces are limited for this workshop. Please RSVP to Email: amrlibrary@amrshire.wa.gov.au or Ph: 9780 5600
