POP BANG SNIP: an exhibition by Pier Paolo Vittone

Exhibition launch at the Margaret River Library Cocoon Gallery for emerging artists

Thursday 9 April, 5.30pm – 6.30pm with light refreshments provided

Pier is an eclectic artist with a background in film and languages. He is driven by curiosity and a stubborn hope that art can make the world a little bit better.
His practice is all about exploration – new techniques, supports, styles and subjects – with painting as his main playground. Working in acrylics, his work is built from bold black lines, solid, punchy colours, and the occasional speech bubble or onomatopoeia.
His work draws inspiration from Pop Art icons like Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Roy Lichtenstein, but also from the cartoons, anime, video games and comic books I grew up with in the 90s.
POP BANG SNIP is a nod to Pop Art, comic-book language, and the joyful collision of influences that fuel his work.

Join Pier in celebrating the launch of Pop Bang Snip. Please RSVP if you can make it. Email: pier42art@gmail.com

Pier also creates illustrative line drawings in architectural style showcasing iconic buildings and some of these will be available at the launch.
