Book Chat Club for teens aged 12 years and over

Teens aged 12 years old and over are invited to join us at Margaret River Library for Book Chat Club on Monday 30th October at 4pm for a 4.15 start.

At our Book Chat Club meetings we talk about the books we have read and give reviews and recommendations to other club members.

Book Chat Club is free with snacks provided and bookings are not required, simply head to the library at 4pm.

Toddler Tales at Augusta Library

Toddler Tales is on at Augusta Library this Thursday 12th October at 10.30am. Children and their caregivers are welcome to this special storytime aimed at Toddlers which contains a story, songs, rhymes, craft and morning tea.

The Golden Feather Hunt is on!

@scribblersfest have sent out thousands of feather-shaped bookmarks to be hidden in 159 libraries across Western Australia (including ours), and it’s up to you to hunt them out. There’s topaz, silver, golden and white feathers to seek out among the shelves in the children’s and young adult sections of our shelves, and each can win you an exciting prize.

The Golden Feather Hunt is on until the 27 October, the day before the Scribblers Family Festival. Come down and start reading (and hunting)!

Book Stars Club on next Monday – for kids aged 8-11 years old

Book Stars Club 

For 8 to 11 year olds and held on the first Monday of each month at the Margaret River Library, meet at 4pm for a 4.15 start with our next meeting being 2nd October. 

During Book Stars we chat about what we have read over the month, give recommendations, and do a book related craft activity.

This is a FREE after school activity and no bookings are required. Please note children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult in the library.

Do you have a picky eater or a child learning to read? Join speech pathologist/author Narelle Wynter and award-winning local illustrator Rebecca Cool for the library launch of their fun book I’d Rather Eat Chocolate.

Snake safety and reptile myth busting

The Discover Deadly team will be visiting the library to chat about how to stay safe around snakes and reptiles and give participants the chance to interact with reptiles that live at the centre. Best suited to kids over 5 years old.

Australian Red Cross Storytime with Birdie

The Shire libraries will be hosting two storytime sessions with the Australian Red Cross based on the Birdie story books. The Birdie books aim to teach young children about different emergencies and how to stay calm in stressful situations with fun activities and interactive stories.
