Low Impact Living Session 1 – Waste Reduction and our New Bin Service

Have you received your new bin? Want to find out more about waste reduction and our new three bin service? We kick start this year’s Low Impact Living Program with a two-part information session hosted by Jackie Dickson – Shire of Augusta Margaret River Waste Education and Projects Officer and sustainability, waste reduction wizard Nirala Hunt. In part one of this session Jackie will talk us through how to navigate our three-bin service including what to put where and why and where our stuff goes once we pop it in the bin. In the second half of this session, Shopping for the Planet, Nirala will look at shopping choices and how we can make changes to our consumption patterns that have benefits not only for our hip pocket, but also assist us as a society to reduce the amount of waste we create. Rebecca Hannan Book Launch ‘The 30 Day Momentum Maker Challenge’

Join Rebecca Hannan as she talks candidly about a time in her life when she wasn’t taking care of herself. Everyone around Rebecca saw a successful professional woman doing it all, but the things in life that were most important to her were being dismissed. It cost her dearly in many areas of her life, she knew something had to change. So she created a challenge to pull herself out of her funk and into her flow. Rebecca has shared this challenge with many of her clients and now it’s time to share it with the world.

Writing workshop with Annabel Smith on Saturday 25th May

Who, What & Why? The Plotting Triangle writing workshop. Saturday 25th May, 9:30am – 12:30pm.

There are still a few places left for this writing workshop so get in touch with the library soon.
Summary: This hands-on interactive workshop will equip participants with the tools for plotting for fiction writing. It is suitable for people at any stage of a writing project.

  • Understand the three sides of the plot ‘triangle’: who? what? and why?
  • Understand the elements of a scene & how scenes push the plot forward
  • Understand the relationship between character & plot
  • Create a plot outline for your story using a six-point story arc structure
