The Kinetic: Poetry in Motion
Our lives pulse with rhythms of motion, invisible forces that shape us. Trace these energies, whether it’s a tender touch or a life-changing leap, through poetic expression, reflection, and gentle writing prompts. A dynamic and welcoming workshop for those who wish to explore movement as metaphor.

This free, 2 hour workshop is presented by Lakshmi Kanchi. Lakshmi is the inaugural Poet in residence at the Wetlands Centre Cockburn and Chair and project manager of WA Poets Inc. bringing the 2025 Perth Poetry Festival on the road to Margaret River in August.

Between River and Sea: Five poets. One gathering. Countless currents of poetry.

Thursday 14 August, 5pm – 6.30pm

Between River & Sea brings together five powerful and distinct voices for an evening of poetry shaped by place, identity and connection. From whispered memory to thunderous truth, these poets speak across cultures, landscapes and lived experience, flowing between the intimate and the universal.

Join us at the Margaret River Library for a night of shared words and vibrant presence.

This is poetry that listens, stirs and stays with you, spoken where waters meet.

Digital Literacy Workshops with Aly Bannister

These workshops are ideal for individuals over 50 who want to get familiar
with the job-seeking process and understand the basics about AI.

Workshop 1: Mature Age Job Seeking

Margaret River Library, Tuesday 3 June – 1:30pm to 3pm
This presentation equips job seekers with the tools for success in today’s market.

  • Build confidence in job applications and understand employer expectations.
  • Discover career transitioning resources and alternative job search methods.
  • Get a resume overview to improve your chances of success.


Workshop 2: Understanding AI for Beginners

Margaret River Library, Wednesday 4 June – 10:30am to 12pm

  • Learn how to apply AI in your small business to boost productivity.
  • Practice using AI tools for social media, blogs, newsletters, marketing and time
    management.
  • Build confidence to leverage AI immediately for greater success.

Margaret River Library will be closed for a hardware upgrade

A thousand apologies for the inconvenience

Margaret River library will be closed for 3 days from the 11th to 13th of March so that our beloved old sorter can be replaced 🙂

We will be open again on Friday the 14th of March at 10am with our new sorter in action.

Our extensive electronic collection (eBooks, eAudio, comics, magazines, newspapers and games) will still be available while we’re closed. For all our latest news and events, visit amribraries.com

Our returns chute will be in use and the Augusta library will be open as usual.
