Poetry Evening With Miriam Wei Wei Lo

WA poet Miriam Wei Wei Lo shares poetry from her new book “Who Comes Calling?” followed by a conversation style interview with Ana Brawls.

Light refreshments provided after the talk with the chance to purchase a copy of Miriam’s book.

Miriam lived in Margaret River for 11 years (some of you might remember her as Miriam Lochore), and many of the poems in this collection are set in Margaret River. Miriam loves to perform her work and we are honoured that she will present her poetry to a local audience. Her poems are accessible and engaging and should appeal, not only to those who identify with her faith perspective, but also to those who are interested in embodied female experience, to lovers of poetry, and to anyone who likes to ask big questions.

RSVP to reserve a seat. Email: amrlibrary@amrshire.wa.gov.au or Ph: 9780 5600

Who Comes Calling? is Miriam’s latest poetry collection, recently published by Western Australian Poets Press.

Karen Larkin Exhibition in The Cocoon Gallery for Emerging Artists

A Short Story …
The name of the gallery ,’The Cocoon’, prompted me to ‘open the lid’. For over 25 years I have had two items in an old OXO stock cube tin on which it says ‘KEEP THE LID CLOSED’.
A little seahorse and an ancient cup handle, found in the desert.
Come along to the Cocoon Gallery for Emerging Artists to see how Karen has expressed her story into beautifully presented photographs printed onto stretched frames.

On display from now until 22nd December in the entry to the Margaret River Library. Artworks are for sale through the artist.
