The Golden Feather Hunt is on!

@scribblersfest have sent out thousands of feather-shaped bookmarks to be hidden in 159 libraries across Western Australia (including ours), and it’s up to you to hunt them out. There’s topaz, silver, golden and white feathers to seek out among the shelves in the children’s and young adult sections of our shelves, and each can win you an exciting prize.

The Golden Feather Hunt is on until the 27 October, the day before the Scribblers Family Festival. Come down and start reading (and hunting)!

Visit scribblersfestival.com.au for more information. Don’t forget to share your feathered finds on social media and tag @scribblersfest and #goldenfeatherhunt to go into a draw to win a spot prize too.

Thursday 5th October, 6 – 7pm at the Margaret River Library

Dolores is displaying her artworks in the form of earthenware plates in the Cocoon Gallery for Emerging Artists. A brief excerpt from the artist bio on display in the Cocoon: “Plate…the vehicle that transports our food. The limit, the measure of the ephemeral pleasure of each meal. A symbol, the foundation of what we put into our bodies, what we eat, and sometimes eats us. What are we putting on our plates? What are we chewing, and ingesting. And by this I mean more than just food. Thinking about what I feed on…Thoughts, feelings, insecurities, body image, concepts…”

The exhibition continues to the end of October.

The Cocoon Gallery for Emerging Artists Welcomes Dolores Delia

What we consume, consumes us: an exhibition by Dolores Delia

1st September to 31 October in the Cocoon Gallery for Emerging Artists at the Margaret River Library

Plate… The vehicle that transports our food. The limit, the measure of the ephemeral pleasure of each meal. A symbol, the foundation of what we put into our bodies, what we eat, and sometimes eats us. What are we putting on our plates? What are we chewing, and ingesting. And by this I mean more than just food. Thinking about what I feed on… thoughts, feelings, insecurities, body image, concepts…

Earthenware plates, with underglaze, underglaze pencils, silkscreen, glazes and decals.

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina Dolores has nurtured herself and studied for several years in the vast and complex fine arts world. Exploring and experimenting with mixed-media, her work focuses on printmaking, photography, paint and ceramics. Working from her ceramics studio in Margaret River has enabled her to explore graphic work in clay. This constant experimental practice portrays nature and fate as masters of inspiration. Image, texture and poetry are combined in random.

These artworks are for sale through the artist and are on display until the end of October unless sold.
