Good luck and best wishes: an exhibition of oil paintings by Sam James

A special Cocoon Gallery launch event will be at the library on Saturday 17th February, 1 – 3pm. All welcome.

Light refreshments provided. Please RSVP to the library on Ph:9780 5600 or email: amrlibrary@amrshire.wa.gov.au

This series of oil paintings focus on the genre of still life and are inspired by a variety of objects in Sam’s studio that relate to ideas of good luck. It seems that almost every culture in the world has stories or rituals related to good luck and objects which bestow good luck or good fortune onto the person that possesses them. Sam thought this was an interesting subject to explore and set about creating works in this theme. The exhibition runs from 1 February through to 31 March so pop into the library and browse the Cocoon Gallery.
