Soleil Heimlich invites the community to join in an exhibition closing party in the Cocoon Gallery for Emerging Artists at the Margaret River Library.
Soleil is passionate about cleaning plastic debris from our beaches and upcycles her finds into beautiful works of art. She loves spending time in the outdoors and has captured the local landscape in her drawings.
Soleil will give a brief talk about her art processes and approaches to working with recycled materials. Light refreshments will be provided. All welcome!

For the second time running we are partnering with Margaret River High School to deliver the Young Mentors Program. Please register your interest to be contacted regarding dates and times the program will run.
The Be Connected Young Mentors program supports older Australians to improve their digital skills by bringing them together with young people in a mentoring capacity, to share digital skills and knowledge.
The Young Mentors are trained in how to mentor older people, then fully supervised as they deliver the weekly sessions.
The one-to-one sessions are fun, informal and tailored to cover topics older people would like to learn. Participants can use their own devices, so the new skills they learn can be put into practice straight away.
The Young Mentors program offers a wealth of benefits to all participants. Older people ÂÂcan improve digital literacy, learn essential life skills and develop a deeper sense of community while the young mentors can develop leadership, communication, problem-solving skills… and much more.
Learning together can change lives.Â

Greg has lived and worked in the Kimberley region of Australia with a traditional Aboriginal elder and powerful maban (shaman), Lulu and the Goolarabooloo people. Lulu, concerned about the state of the world and threats to the continuity of all life, asked Greg to work on one book. During a 31-year process, Total Reset slowly emerged with original knowledge carried unbroken for thousands of generations. It reveals the First Peoples as the holders of holistic principles integral to our species’ design and ever capable of application; humanity’s original blueprint for living.
Total Reset honours Lulu’s wish for people to be able to look at our world through different lenses and in that light join together to reset how we are living on Earth, abandoning humanity’s 5,000-year trajectory of division and destruction in favour of holistic ways of being and doing. Come along to hear Greg talk about his book and enjoy light refreshments and the opportunity to purchase a signed copy.

The first Toddler Tales of 2023 is on at Augusta Library this Thursday 9th February at 10.30am. Children and their caregivers are welcome to this special storytime aimed at Toddlers which contains a story, songs, rhymes, craft and morning tea.

During Book Stars we chat about what we have read over the month, give recommendations, and do a book related craft activity.
Book Stars Dates for 2023:
For kids 12 years and over, held on the last Monday of each month at Margaret River Library, meet at 4pm for a 4.15 start.
Each meeting we discuss about what we have read and give reviews for other members of the club. There is no ‘set’ book – we agree on a genre or theme, and you pick a book that appeals to you.
Book Chat dates for 2023:
Reading groups are facilitated by a library staff member and refreshments are provided, please advise library staff if you have any dietary requirements. Bookings are not required, simply head to the library at 4pm on these dates. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note reading groups do not meet during school holidays or public holidays, refer to the library school holiday program instead.

Storytime: Every Tuesday starting 31st January at 10.15am for 10.30am start at Margaret River Library
Book Chat Club: On the last Monday of each month starting Monday 30th January at 4.00pm for a 4.15pm start at Margaret River Library
Book Stars Club: On the first Monday of each month starting Monday 6th February at 4.00pm for a 4.15pm start at Margaret River Library
Toddler Tales:Â Thursday 9th February 10.30am at Augusta Library
All regular children’s programs are run during school term and not on public holidays. Only Toddler Tales requires bookings for catering purposes.
