This month marks the first anniversary of the international literary journal, Portside Review. The journal is published four times a year and it promotes cross-cultural community creations from collaborators across the Indian Ocean. Their latest issue is also their first fully bilingual journal! To celebrate this achievement, Portside Review is sharing some pieces from their latest issue for you to read for free.
Immerse yourself in the stunningly exhilarating audio travelogue, by artists of Arka Kinari, lands on the coast of the whaling village of Lamakera, at the eastern edge of Indonesia, in Dawn Find Us. And take some time to read Indonesian fiction, non-fiction, essays and poetry, like this beautiful piece by Agung Setaiwan, translated from Indonesian into English by Sebastian Partogi, below.

Toddler Tales is on again at Augusta Library Thursday 10th March at 10.30am. Caregivers with Toddlers aged 18 to 36 months are welcome to attend for a storytime session with books, rhymes, songs, craft and morning tea.

Rona has always been intrigued by insects and the phenomenal part they play in our existence. She is conscious of the materials she chooses to work with and the impact they may have on these small creatures both in the manufacturing, creative and disposal processes. Rona’s love of working with textiles, printmaking and encaustic painting come together in this exhibition to celebrate these tiny creatures and their habitat. This body of work encompasses framed ‘slow-stitch’ mixed media textiles and wax encaustic mixed media on board. The Cocoon Gallery smells wonderful.
All artworks are for sale through the artist with the price list on display in the gallery. The Cocoon Gallery for emerging artists is in the entrance to the Margaret River Library and is easily accessible during library hours.

Book Chat Club is a group for those aged between ten and fourteen years old who are enthusiastic about books.
Each meeting we chat about what we have read and give reviews for other members of the club. There is no ‘set’ book – we agree on a genre or theme, and you pick a book that appeals to you.
As per State Government directions, Masks are mandatory in public settings for all those 12 years and over unless an exemption is provided.

Are you using the OverDrive app? From February 23rd OverDrive will be replaced by Libby. All your OverDrive account information will be transferred once you have downloaded and logged in to Libby using your library card. You wont lose your history or current loans.
With the Libby app you can still read books and magazines, listen to audio books, but now you can also enjoy movies on Kanopy or learn something new on Universal Class.
