A talk by John Wheatley on Colonel Walter Karri Davies

Thursday, 23rd November, 6.00 pm to 7:30 pm

A short question time at the end of John’s talk will be followed by refreshments

Karri’s service medals will be on display for the first time in Australia

John’s talk will cover most aspects of Karri’s life, from his early days in Australia, to his time in South Africa, including the Jameson Raid and the Boer War where it is reputed he refused the award of the Victoria Cross for extreme bravery, his post war life in South Africa, Australia and England and the impact his activities had on these three countries.

This talk is the second given by John, the first, on the life of M.C. Davies (Karri’s father) having been given in March 2014 at the Uniting Church, Margaret River.
