From May 4th to June 30th the Cocoon Gallery for Emerging Artists will display works by Jara Gillick-Lewis, in her exhibition Rabbit in the Moon.

Jara is a local visual artist working with a diverse range of mediums including illustration, ink, water colour and spray paint. Her illustrations of the natural world celebrate the inextricable complexity and simplicity inherent in nature. The splashes of colour and stains throughout her work represent the fluidity of nature itself and our perceptions. She has facilitated many large-scale street art projects with disengaged youth as part of various community-based initiatives over the last ten years. With a deep respect for art and its power to transform others she is always using it as a catalyst for positive change.
