Children’s Book Week runs from 22 to 28 August 2026, and we are celebrating at Margaret River Library and Augusta Library.

Each year, Children’s Book Week shines a light on the wonderful books created for children and young people in Australia. The 2026 theme is Symphony of Stories, brought to life by Western Australian author and illustrator Briony Stewart.

During the week, you can browse our Children’s Book of the Year display and take home free Book Week craft activities. It is an easy way for families to discover new stories and enjoy some creative time together.

Young readers can also dress as a favourite book character when they visit.

Everyone who dresses up can enter the draw to win a Children’s Book Week prize pack, and some library staff may join in with costumes of their own.

Simply drop in during opening hours, explore the display and celebrate the stories you love.
