We are eSmart!

We are excited to announce that the Augusta and Margaret River Libraries are now officially accredited eSmart Libraries!

eSmart is an initiative of Telstra and the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, aimed at encouraging participation online while promoting safe, smart and responsible online behaviour.

Over the past year, we’ve reviewed many of our procedures, ranging from updating our Code of Conduct to include digital behaviour, to ensuring that our patrons have access to information about scams, online bullying and privacy.

We’ve added a simple link to our website so that anybody can find their way to the eSmart resources page and learn new digital skills, or find out how to keep themselves and their families safe online.

We invite all our community to visit the Library Services Online Resource page on the Shire website and click on the eSmart link. There is information that is suitable for different ages and situations, and we feel sure that it will be of benefit to anyone with questions about digital participation and safety.

The eSmart Library project will be ongoing, with further changes made as necessary to reflect the rapidly changing digital environment.

Library staff are always happy to assist the community if anybody needs help accessing digital safety information.

Zinio e-magazines & OneClick Digital e-audiobooks: some big changes!

Recently, Zinio e-magazines and OneClick Digital e-audiobooks underwent a name change.

Zinio is now RBdigital magazines and Oneclick Digital is now RBdigital e-audiobooks.

The 2 services have been merged into one app.

The app is called RBdigital and is freely available via your App or Play store.

Full guidelines for creating accounts with each of these great services, and accessing them via the RBdigital app, are now available. There is also information to help you transition to the new app if you already have accounts.  Click here to view the guidelines.

If you have any problems with accounts, profiles or the app, there is a toll-free RBdigital helpline available to assist:  1800 571 819

OneClick Digital audio-books & Zinio e-magazines offline while apps merge

On Tuesday 27 June, OneClick Digital audiobooks and Zinio e-magazines will be temporarily unavailable, to allow the merging of the 2 separate apps into one easy-to-use app.

The new app is called RBdigital, and it will allow you to browse, select, download and store both audio-books and e-magazines to your mobile device.

If you are not already using these services, we invite you to  visit our Online Resources page to find out more about the free online resources available to our library members.

If you are already using either or both of these services, we apologise for the interruption.

This is how the merge will affect you:

Those who already use the OneClickdigital app:

• Will receive an update notification on their device
• Will notice the app icon change to RBdigital
• Will retain all history, downloads and bookmarks in the new app

Those who already use the Zinio app:

• Will receive an in-app notification that the app is changing and they will be encouraged to download the new RBdigital app from their app store
• Can continue to use the Zinio for Libraries app for 60 days
• Will retain all history in the new app, but will need to re-download magazines

Those who already use both apps:

Only need to install the new RBdigital app once to access all RBdigital  e-magazines and e-audiobooks together in one place!

Need assistance with the change?

Over the first two weekends after the new app goes live (which is 1 & 2 July and 8 & 9 July) a live, toll-free Support number will be available to call between 7am to 3pm on Saturdays, and 8am to 1pm on Sundays. This line is also operational Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm on all other dates during this first month.

The toll-free number is 1800 571 819.

We thank you for your patience while we are updating our website documents to reflect the new service.
