Come along to this workshop of stories and woven artwork by local storyteller and artist Cynamon Aeria. Children will listen to stories brought to life by woven characters and will then be able to help create a woven sculpture for the library garden and one to keep themselves.

This workshop is for children aged 6 years and over and accompanying adults are very welcome to participate also.

All school holiday activities are FREE at the shire libraries, however bookings are essential and children must be accompanied by an adult for each session.

Provided: Paper craft activities to create including paper fans, decorate a lantern, rat mask to make and paper cut-outs, Chinese Spring Couplets to paint

Our event this year includes a performance by the Montessori School Choir, general knowledge quiz and aromatherapy hand massages. Discover deadly will be running workshops to teach snake identification, safety around snakes and correct first aid treatment for snake bite. Venomous and non venomous snakes will be on display with the opportunity to cuddle a python. Sessions are professional, informative, safe and fun. They are designed for teachers, outdoor workers and business owners who might encounter snakes in their work day. Three Capes Track Tasmania: a travel talk by Dr Pam Lynch

Four days, three nights, stunning coastline with spectacular dolomite pillars rising in their architectural magnificence from the ocean floor. Autumn colours dripping in the misty rain, silence, a climb to the top of Mt Fortescue, a Lord of the Rings type magical forest, green and mossy and dark and dank and then an unrivalled view as we stood looking down into the abyss where the Southern Ocean meets the Tasman Sea. Where are we?

We’re at the south east corner of Tasmania and we’ve just completed the Three Capes Track walk and we’ve loved every minute.

Annabel Smith returns to conduct a workshop about the writing craft and habit-building along with the psychological aspects of creativity. The Water Corp shower head swap starts this week and continues to May 2020 or while stocks last. Bring your old showerhead to the library with a water bill if you have one, register your details, read the terms and conditions and take your new free water saving showerhead home to install.

Over-50’s and their friends are invited to a community lunch at the Margaret River Library at 12 noon on Thursday 17 October. Places are limited so BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL.

The lunch is supported by a grant from the Federal Government Be Connected program, which aims to encourage over-50s to build on their digital skills.
