Kids aged 10 to 14 years old are invited to join us at Margaret River Library for Book Chat Club on Monday 26th July at 4.15pm.

At our monthly Book Chat Club meetings we talk about the books we have read and give reviews and recommendations to other club members.

Book illustration and drawing workshop with Gabriel Evans

Gabriel Evans is an illustrator who creates worlds with a paintbrush. He’s worked with some of the worlds most loved publishers including Penguin Australia, Hardie Grant, Walker Books Australia, Scholastic Australia, Simon & Schuster USA, Affirm Press and Berbay Publishing. Gabriel has teamed up with acclaimed Australian and USA authors and received two notable Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year nominations.

During this workshop you will explore the process of illustrating a book, creating characters, developing picture book ideas and hear Gabriel’s journey to becoming an illustrator.

The Golden Feather hunt begins!

Join the hunt for the Golden Feather at your local library during the school holidays. As part of the Scribblers Festival, feathers have been hidden in books across West Australian public libraries – will you be the lucky winner who finds the Golden Feather?

Thanks to Scribblers Festival, you can also pick up a RELICS: Bricks of the new world workbook while stocks last.

March Book Chat Club meeting for book lovers 10 to 14 years old

If you are over 10 years old and love books, come to Book Chat at Margaret River Library this Monday 29th March at 4.15pm for recommended reads and fun book related activities.

This meeting we are dressing up as our favourite book characters!

New Book Chat Club members are always welcome.

Important information about Junior and Young Adult memberships

We want to let all parents know about a system change that will affect our Junior and Young Adult members.

Effective immediately, all Junior and Young Adult membership types will now be able to use their library cards to access the internet on our public PCs. The library wifi is also freely available and not restricted by age.

If you would prefer your child to not be able to log themselves onto a PC session, please ensure you supervise them at the libraries.
