Come to Margaret River Library for “You are the One” children’s book reading and song with local artist and author Di Gee, followed by a fun music session with bubbles and rainbow streamers. Colour in heart, harmony and peace symbols and place your wishes for a better world on the harmony heart tree.

Intergenerational book upcycling art workshop

Mixed media artist Victoria Robertson hosts two intergenerational workshop sessions at the Margaret River Library. Create a beautiful artwork from pre-loved books, choosing from a  range of ready-to-make kits with various themes. No previous experience needed and all materials provided.
This workshop is for anybody aged between 12 and 100 years old. Bookings essential. Space can be made for support carers, just let us know.
Please only book one session per participant to enable everyone to attend a workshop.

This January the Book Cubby will be hosted by Augusta Library!

The Book Cubby is a mini maker space for creating your own book. Visit the Augusta Library to either create a book to take home and keep, or make one to stay in the Book Cubby and be read by others.

Visit Augusta Library anytime in January during Augusta Library’s opening hours to design your own book in the cubby.

The Book Cubby’s last day at Augusta Library will be Wednesday 28th January, so don’t miss this opportunity to join in the book making fun.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at library events. We hope to see you at the library soon.

Regular library programs for children and families are back!

School is starting again which means our regular children’s programs resume at your shire libraries.

Baby Rhyme Time commences Monday 13th October with all other activities beginning the next week.

For babies up to two years of age and their caregivers, Baby Rhyme Time is a fun place to learn new rhymes and songs to share with your little one.

Storytime: Every Tuesday at 10.15am for 10.30am start at Margaret River Library starting 21 October
For children aged two to five years old and their caregivers, Storytime encourages children to discover a love of books, stories, reading, rhymes and craft and promotes family literacy skills.

Themes planned for term four include Transport, the beach, gardening, an Intergenerational Storytime for Seniors Week, and Christmas.

Toddler Tales: Thursday 13 November at 10.30am at Augusta Library
Aimed at Toddlers, this session incorporates a story, rhymes, songs and craft at Augusta Library

Book Stars Club: On the third Monday of each month starting Monday 20 October from 4.00pm at Margaret River Library

All regular children’s programs are run during school term and not on public holidays.

Supersonic Science workshop

Hold on to your hats SCIENCE FANS… Supersonic Science are bringing their insanely popular hands on science workshops to town!

Get ready for an hour of jam packed Supersonic Science experiments including Supersonic Snow and Slime to take home, Bubbleology, Toroidal Vortex Cannons, Elephants Toothpaste demonstration, Cool chemistry, Burning bubbles and much more!

Snake safety and reptile myth busting with Discover Deadly

The Discover Deadly team will be visiting the library to chat about how to stay safe around snakes and reptiles and give participants the chance to interact with reptiles that live at the centre.

This activity is for children aged over 5 years old.

South West Autism Network presents legal aid workshops this Thursday

Free mini comic workshop with Sean E Avery at Margaret River Library – Booked out!

 

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River Libraries, with thanks to CBCA WA, is excited to host a free illustration workshop with acclaimed author-illustrator Sean E Avery.

Sean is a primary school teacher, graphic designer and Neuro-inclusion specialist from Perth, WA.

He’s best known for his hilarious graphic novels such as Ducky the Spy and the bestselling picture book Frank’s Red Hat, which won the 2023 CBCA Shadow Judges Picture Book of the Year award.

Sean’s workshops are energetic, engaging and designed to inspire creativity and a love of reading. He’s a dynamic public speaker who connects effortlessly with young audiences.

Event details:

Best suited for kids aged 7 and over, this fun and engaging workshop will include live drawing tips and tricks, entertaining readings from Sean’s books and plenty of laughs and creative fun.
