Books are food for the mind and soul for anyone who loves to read.

The Footpath Library was developed to provide free access to books for everyone, and especially for those who may be experiencing particular hardship in their lives right now.

The Footpath Library provides free access to e-books and e-audiobooks without requiring you to provide identification or proof of address.

The library offers thousands of popular titles for children, teens and adults – plus a special selection of wellbeing titles aimed particularly at teens.

National Reconciliation Week is 27 May – 3 June

This year’s theme “More than a word. Reconciliation takes action,” aims to encourage people to actively take action in matters of inequality and inspire people to safeguard the basic rights of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples, raising the alarm when they are denied, ignored or diminished. Do you like reading magazines?

Our online collection of magazines has moved from RBDigital to Overdrive.

All the same great titles are still available, and you have a choice of apps to use to read them:

Libby – great if you like a modern interface and a wide range of functionalities. Start on the home page. Scroll down until you come to Popular Australian Magazines. You can download the magazines to your device so that you can enjoy them when you’re offline.

Overdrive (the classic app) – for those of us who prefer a more traditional app layout. Click in Collections then scroll down to Magazines. You will only be able to read the magazines while online if you choose this app.
