We are so lucky – we have regular wild visitors to the organic garden at the Margaret River Library. Last week we hosted a very relaxed quenda! It wasn’t at all bothered by the presence of library staff, and even posed for this photo.

Walking Through History: The Hadrian’s Wall Walk

Come along for an armchair travel and history talk by Dr Pam Lynch where she shares images from her trip to Hadrian’s Wall and her knowledge on all things archaeology of Roman Britain.

As of 6pm tonight, the libraries will return to pre-lockdown hours, which means you can visit the Margaret River Library from 10am tomorrow, Saturday 6th February.

Augusta Library will be open from 10am on Tuesday 9th February. 

Well done to all our community for complying with the temporary lockdown and ensuring we could all get back to our current version of ‘normal’ 🙂

Please look out for any changes issued by the WA Government at  https://www.wa.gov.au/ as this may result in further changes to Shire facilities opening hours and services.

Library staff have been busily investigating how we can best serve our community during this trying time. We’ve been through lockdown before, but this time the rules imposed by the State Government are a little different.

This is what you need to know (and please spread the word!):

• Libraries are not permitted to offer Click & Collect during the current lockdown, but don’t worry – we’ll be holding on to your reserved items for an extra few weeks to make sure that you don’t miss out! As soon as pick-ups are permitted again, we’ll let you know.
• We’re also required to close our After Hours Book Return chute, so please hang on to your items for now. We don’t mind if they are overdue – you won’t be penalised for that. We are in the process of organising the renewal of all current loans, so don’t be surprised if your due-back date suddenly changes.
• Online resources are available so that you can still enjoy a fresh supply of books, magazines and movies. Click here to explore the range.

The Margaret River and Augusta Libraries will be closed for at least the next 5 days. Please don’t be concerned if you have items due back – nobody in our community will be penalised for late returns during this challenging time.

The Margaret River Library is now open!
