Library staff have been busily investigating how we can best serve our community during this trying time. We’ve been through lockdown before, but this time the rules imposed by the State Government are a little different.

This is what you need to know (and please spread the word!):

• Libraries are not permitted to offer Click & Collect during the current lockdown, but don’t worry – we’ll be holding on to your reserved items for an extra few weeks to make sure that you don’t miss out! As soon as pick-ups are permitted again, we’ll let you know.
• We’re also required to close our After Hours Book Return chute, so please hang on to your items for now. We don’t mind if they are overdue – you won’t be penalised for that. We are in the process of organising the renewal of all current loans, so don’t be surprised if your due-back date suddenly changes.
• Online resources are available so that you can still enjoy a fresh supply of books, magazines and movies. Click here to explore the range.

As of 6pm today, our region (along with Perth and Peel regions) is entering another period of lockdown.

The Margaret River and Augusta Libraries will be closed for at least the next 5 days. Please don’t be concerned if you have items due back – nobody in our community will be penalised for late returns during this challenging time.

The Margaret River Library is now open!

The Augusta Library will open tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10am.

Did you know that Augusta Margaret River Libraries have an extensive Dyslexia Friendly collection?

For some time we have been adding titles to our Junior and Young Adult collection, which has been hugely popular.

Hoping to make our collection as broad and inclusive to all age groups, we recently expanded our Adult Dyslexia collection.

The new collection has a variety of titles from crime/thrillers to modern Australian novels.

The Augusta and Margaret River Libraries will be closed for the Christmas break.

Both branches will close at 3pm on Thursday 24 December, and re-open at these times:

Margaret River Library: Open at 10am on Monday 4 January

Augusta Library: Open at 10am on Tuesday 5 January

Our online resources will be available for the duration of the break – click here to explore our range of e-books, downloadable audio-books, online courses and movie streaming services.

Remember, you can borrow up to 30 items, so be sure to stock up! We extend our borrowing period over Christmas, so no items will be due back during the break.

The Margaret River Library is closing early this Friday 11 December at 12pm for an all Shire staff event.

We’ll be open again at 10am on Saturday 12 December.
