Emerging artist Brooke McQueen invites the community to join her at the Margaret River Library for an evening of art-talk. Brooke will discuss her artistic journey and talk through some of her paintings at the Cocoon Gallery.
With an intensive and empowering learning journey, Brooke is always developing new skills with art instructed sessions. She has her own studio space and is always developing new paintings. Brooke has a strong connection with her art, enjoying the creative process and the rewards that comes with it.
“Painting with my brushes makes me feel calm,” she affirms. Come along to support Brooke in this next step of her artistic career. Light refreshments provided and all welcome.

Following Mark McGowan’s announcement last week, the Shire of Augusta Margaret River Libraries will be required to enforce contact tracing registration from this Saturday 5 December.

We want to thank our community in advance – for your patience as we implement this new requirement, and also for helping to keep each other safe. We feel very lucky to be a part of such a supportive community!

From 5 December, all visitors to the library must check in by using the SafeWA app and scanning our unique QR code, which will be displayed at the entry. Alternatively, visitors can register their details manually. These details will be entered directly into the SafeWA app and will not be retained by the libraries for any other purpose.

Records would only be used for the purpose of COVID-19 contact tracing, should it be required, and will only be kept for 28 days and not used for any other purpose. Click here for more information.

Contact tracing registration is mandatory. Patrons who decline to provide details or check in with the app are not permitted to enter the library. However, you can still return items via the after-hours chute (which is currently open 24/7), and access library e-resources from home if you prefer. The Death and Dying Matters group in Margaret River is hosting an information evening about beginning the conversation concerning death and dying.
The group has spent the last two years gathering information about many different aspects of dying and death and are ready to share their research. After three brief presentations to introduce the topic, guests will have the opportunity for more individual discussion and question time.
‘Death and Dying Matters’ is based in the Margaret River region and are a not-for-profit, volunteer-run community group interested in normalising the topic of death and bringing it into the community.
The group feels it is important to reclaim this universal event as a normal, honourable and inevitable part of each person’s life and not something to be silenced and hidden. Death and Dying Matters have no religious affiliation and respect the personal and private affiliations of everyone.

I dreamed a house of
