Do you miss those days when you could lie in bed and somebody would read you a story, while you gradually slipped into sleep and pleasant dreams?

Well, now you can revisit those gentle times with cloudLibrary, BorrowBox and Overdrive e-audiobooks!

Each of these apps includes a timer option. Set the app to stop playing after 10 minutes, 30 minutes or the end of the chapter – then switch off the light, snuggle down and give your mind something to focus on as you let the day fade away, and drift off to sleep.

Revisit a calming classic, or set yourself up with something more exciting (and be prepared for adventurous dreams!)

Library patrons have free access to these 3 e-book and e-audiobook platforms, and here are tens of thousands of titles to choose from. Click here to find out how to access this service.

Your TAKEAWAY LIBRARY has arrived – Click & Collect is here at last!

The Margaret River Library welcomed the community back into the library from Tuesday 26 May, and Augusta Library is open from the 4 August (click here for the new opening days and hours) – but we will continue to offer Click & Collect to our community.

Patrons can use Click & Collect via any of these 3 methods:

1 – Log in, search the catalogue, and place a Hold directly. Click here to go directly to the catalogue. Never placed a Hold via the catalogue before? Click here for instructions.

2 – Send an email to us with your request. Please let us know your name, phone number and your pick-up branch. Send your email to: amrlibraries@gmail.com

3 – Call us on 9780 5600. We’ll assist you to place holds on specific items. If you’re not sure what you want, we are happy to bundle up a selection based on your area of interest.

Once your items are ready for collection, you’ll receive an automated email and/or SMS notifying you that the item is ready for pick-up. Please ensure we have your correct contact details so you don’t miss out on this important notice!

You can then come to the library during open hours, and either:

  • Come inside, collect your item from the Hold shelf, and check it out to yourself; or
  • Come to the back door, ring the doorbell (knock for Augusta) and staff will check the item out and hand it to you.

Your library loans have been renewed

We realise you may have been worried about your library items over the shutdown period, and wanted to let you know that all items will be automatically renewed until 30 June, and will then be further renewed if necessary. For now, please disregard any notifications you may have received regarding due-back or pick-up dates. There will be no administration fees for overdue items during the shutdown.

You may continue to return your items through our after hours chute at either Margaret River or Augusta library if you wish, as we have instigated a quarantine process for the after-hours chutes.

Stay tuned for information about Click & Collect – we are developing a safe procedure to enable our community to access the library collection. We will also release more information about how to access a range of online services to enjoy from home, including educational resources.

Please share this news with your family and friends, and encourage everybody to follow this blog if they wish to stay up-to-date with availability of Library Services.

If you have any queries or concerns, please call us on 9780 5600.
